Named after the family who previously owned the vineyards around the domaine, Coeur de Roy is made from vines aged between 50 and 115 years old. It is a selection from four plots, spread over three hectares and is the largest volume cuvée at the estate. A dark eppery nose, with fine raspberry aromas. The palate is intense and finely structured, the saturated dark berry fruit framed by rather majestic chalky tannins. A strident, potent wine, and an archetype of Gevrey. A wine of “grace”, as Loïc called it.
