Opaque ruby colour. The nose is inky-dark, almost camphorous and high-toned. The palate is sweet on entry then massive, almost brutish in its concentration with a real attack in its chewy, fresh, powerful flavours to a finally sweet, gustily long finish. This is an ambitiously powerful Bourgneuf which may just tip into greatness. |
